Composite Boats are made from Boron Nitride (BN),
Titanium Diboride (TiB2) and Aluminum Nitride
powder. These `boats' and typically have a cavity
machined onto the top surface. The material acts
as a resistance-heating element. It is
electrically heated to approximately
1600 O
C. An aluminum wire is fed into the cavity of the heated boat, melts and spreads out in a puddle.
Boats are available in a variety of sizes. Any other special size boat is also possible.
